Richard Truax, MBA, CMPE
Executive Director
Richard Truax joined Atlantic Orthopedics in August of 2001. He brings over ten years of healthcare management experience, five as a consultant with the Medical Management Institute and five as Administrator of a large orthopedic group in Durham, NC. Prior to that Richard was a career Army Officer with a wide variety of staff and command assignments. Richard earned a bachelors degree from UCLA and a Master of Business Administration from the Anderson School of Management at UCLA. Richard is a member of The Society of Orthopaedic Administrators and a Past-President of the Triangle Medical Managers. He is also a member of the Medical Group Management Association and the American College of Medical Practice Executives where he holds the designation of Certified Medical Practice Executive. Richard and his wife Tricia reside in Wilmington where they are active members of Myrtle Grove Presbyterian Church. They have three grown sons and four grandchildren.
